In recent years, the municipality has received about $25 million from Ontario Lottery and Gaming for hosting Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, but with both facilities closed since mid-March due to the pandemic, and no reopening date in sight, councillors are worried about relying on such funding.

Entrances will also be restricted to maintain safe social distancing and traffic flow through the Wellness Checkpoints. The Seneca Square entrance on 4th street will be open for walk in as well as the Hotel Front Entrance. Parking Garage Update: The east or Hotel side skywalk is currently closed. We have opened up the Western Door skywalk. Hotel guests are advised to use valet if they would like to avoid walking across the casino floor.

All other entries will be closed including the Bear’s Den entrance and the Bus Lobby entrance.

Requirements

Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino

EVERY guest and team member must proceed through the Wellness Checkpoint (temperature screening). Anyone exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19 will be denied entry that day. Anyone registering 100.4 or above temperature will pass through a secondary screening. If the 2nd screening registers a temperature of 100.4 or above, guest and/or team member will be denied entry that day. All temperature screenings will be done with a safe social distance through thermal imaging screeners.

Face masks will be mandatory for both guests and team members and must be worn at all times while on property. No mask, no entry. If you don’t have a face mask one may be provided for you.

EVERY guest and team member must use hand sanitizer before entering.

We are operating at reduced capacity in order to maintain social distancing at this time. Guests may be asked to come back at a later time.

Casino

NO SMOKING is allowed anywhere inside the resort. Smoking will be allowed only in outdoor designated areas and with social distancing. Any guest who goes outside to smoke must go through the Wellness Checkpoint upon reentering the building.

Casino Niagara is a commercial casino located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. It opened in 1996, on the site of the former Maple Leaf Village amusement park. With a prime location beside Clifton Hill, it was originally conceived as a temporary facility until Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort opened but has remained open as a permanent facility. It is the second Casino to open in Ontario,[1] and the first to feature electronic Roulette. Casino Niagara has over 1,300 slots and over 40 table games, as well as sports betting.[2][3]

Ownership and management[edit]

The Casino is owned by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. As of June 2019, the casino's day-to-day operations are managed by Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, owner of Mohegan Sun.[4]

The Casino completed a $7 million renovation in 2017.[5]
